To do this, we must unite and train the next generation of leaders who will carry this fight to their campuses across the country. One way that we do this is through the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference that will be held March 29-31 near our headquarters here in Arlington, Virginia.
I’m delighted to report that the registration response has been overwhelming. Hundreds of student activists will come together to strategize, train, and prepare for the next fight. To stand against clinic violence, fight to end gender apartheid in Afghanistan, demand abortion access, pledge to place the already-ratified Equal Rights Amendment in the Constitution -- and prepare for the next critical elections.
And while they’re at the conference, they will also take their voices to Congress.
On the final day, students will meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, bringing their demands to the people who need to hear them most. This is how we build power. This is how we win.
But here’s the urgent problem: many students cannot afford the cost of attending.
We need your help to cover hotel and travel expenses for students traveling from distant colleges and universities -- from Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, California, North Carolina, and even Texas. We cannot turn them away. We will not.
I’m asking if you can help.
