Dear John

Our next How to Save the Planet live chat is coming up and this time we’re going to be talking about access to nature.

Whether it's a sprawling forest or an urban park, nature can be a great comfort during unsettling times. But the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted just how many people, particularly in urban areas, lack quality green space.

Please join us on YouTube Live and get inspired about how we can push for a fairer and greener world after the pandemic. If you register to join you’ll get the chance to submit a question for the speakers in advance. Or alternatively just follow this link ([link removed]) in time for a 7PM start on 4 June.

We’ll be introducing our campaigners Guy Shrubsole and Paul de Zylva as they discuss how we can create a fairer society where nature is restored and green spaces are accessible to everyone.

Guy has written for numerous publications including the Guardian and New Statesman. His first book, Who Owns England?, looks at the past, present and future of land ownership in England.

Paul is an expert on the natural environment, biodiversity and ecosystems. He has helped lead successful Friends of the Earth campaigns including The Bee Cause, which persuaded the government to draw up a national bee and pollinator strategy.

It’s going to be a fascinating evening and I hope you’ll be able to join us.

Many thanks,

Being a grassroots network, people and communities are at the heart of all we do.

So while we’ll continue to campaign to stop climate and nature breakdown, during these difficult times our top priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of you, our supporters, and the wider community.

We’ll be doing all we can over the coming weeks to make sure we can support you in any way possible, from showing how you can connect and work with your community online, to sharing stories to help lift your spirits.

Look after yourself, look after each other, look after the planet.
