John,
Black voters have always shown up for our democracy. In 2024, we turned out in record numbers, electing 67 Black legislators to Congress and making historic gains as mayors, attorneys general, and state supreme court justices across the country.
In 2025, 45 states will elect new governors, judges, mayors, and school board members. But with every step forward, there are those working overtime to push us back. Their goal is clear — they want us too tired, confused, and frustrated to vote.
With 34 million eligible Black voters this year, we can decide who represents us in states across the country. Just take a look:
🗳 Mississippi: Black voters make up nearly 40% of the electorate, holding the power to determine local leadership as nearly 4,500 city council seats are up for election.
🗳 Virginia: With Black voters accounting for more than 20% of the electorate, their votes will be important in deciding the direction of nearly 170 school board elections across the state.
🗳 North Carolina: Black voters make up more than 20% of the electorate, with a major opportunity to impact over 2,700 city council races that will shape their communities.
🗳 Pennsylvania: More than 1.14 million eligible Black voters in Pennsylvania could help decide the outcome of three Pennsylvania Supreme Court races this year. In Philadelphia, Black voters make up 40% of the electorate.
There are people hoping that we sit out the 100,000+ local elections happening this year — but we refuse. Will you set up a monthly donation of $10 to support our efforts to ensure we get Black voters to turn out in high numbers — again? >>> [[link removed]]
