Join us May 30 with Sen. Anthony Portantino, chair of the powerful Appropriations Committee, known for his brains & resolve. He helped kill SB 50, is addressing the deficit, and is author of SB 1299, to reward cities who turn idled stores into housing.

 

The second half, starting about 11 am, will be a call to action for city officials and community leaders: We’ll discuss highly effective messaging via email, zoom and calls to your local senator AND local assembly member — to stop Scott Wiener.

 

Wiener, a three-time loser, has wasted everyone’s time with his divisive SB 827, SB 50 and SB 50 Redux. Amidst the pandemic, he’s made sly moves as media looked away.

 

Wiener has rushed bills through his Housing Committee that wipe out single-family zoning statewide, urge cities to jam low-density areas with tall buildings, and more.

 

Saturday May 30, we’ll begin activating ourselves and hundreds of folks statewide, to save our neighborhoods from Wiener’s misguided vision.

 

Then on June 6, we’ll hold a second teleconference on stopping Wiener: Brilliant legal mind Robert Silverstein will drill into the worst aspects of Wiener’s bills.

-  Sen. President Toni Atkins’ Housing Task Force’s failure to stay independent of Wiener as pledged. Atkins instead released a raft of divisive Wiener bills.
