Hey there, Folks.

Recently, I asked my supporters to fill out our Priorities Focus Group Survey to help my team and I gain a better understanding of your top issues and concerns. 

I’m grateful to say we received over a thousand responses, which provided my team and I with a wealth of information about how we can better serve you, as well as a clear snapshot of how Democrats are feeling just under a month into Donald Trump's administration. 

• 63% of respondents chose stopping Project 2025, defending democracy, and reigning in far-right extremism as top priorities. 
• 97% are “very concerned” about the far-right majority in Congress.
• 41% prioritize reigning in Elon Musk & DOGE, including the dismantling of the federal government & mass firings of federal employees.
• 58% are worried about the loss of funding for scientific research, particularly on the environment, climate, public health, and medicine. 

(Many of you requested a more exhaustive priorities list, so we’ll include these additional topics going forward.)

We received a record number of comments on our most recent survey, and I want to thank you for taking the time to put your honest thoughts in writing. We really do read and learn from your feedback.

I read through quite a few of your replies, and I’ll say this bluntly: Those of you feeling sad, frustrated, and fearful about the state of our country are not alone. 

I share your outrage over the right-wing takeover of our government, your desire to protect Trump’s scapegoated communities, and your determination to see our kids and grandkids grow up in a thriving democracy. I stand with you in the belief that bold and courageous leadership is the only way forward.

While I can’t fix this crisis alone, I can promise to you that I will meet this moment with the boldness, courage, and tenacity it demands. 

I will wake up every day determined to protect your power, your peace, and your prosperity from those who want to take it all away.

Once again, thank you so much for your insightful responses and for being such an active and engaged member of our grassroots community. We won’t let apathy win.
