Hello John,
The market is in a free fall, and yet somehow, that isn’t leading any corporate news headlines. I wonder why that is. Things are really, really bad—just look at your own investments. Actually, maybe it's best to save yourself the grief and not do that today.
Could it be that the market does not favor massive layoffs in the federal government? Or could it be that the free market is reacting to a president who changes U.S. economic policies like he changes his socks? Whatever the case, the market is not having it—and for Trump, who prides himself on a robust stock market (one that he inherited, by the way), he sure as hell isn’t doing a good job there.
It’s not just stocks—the crypto market is even worse, and the crypto bros are having a meltdown. Okay, I’ll admit, I did chuckle at that one—but it’s impacting everyone. My personal accounts are down something like 30% since Trump took office. I’m not a day trader, but I’m in a few chat groups with friends who like to trade, and every time I take their input, it proves to be the wrong decision. I think I need new friends, haha.
But on a more serious note: why is corporate media giving Trump a pass on this? Could it be they’re scared of his retaliation? After all, the AP has been blocked from the White House briefing room, ABC and Comcast have had to pay Trump tens of millions of dollars in bogus lawsuits that he filed—cases they settled just to avoid his wrath. Or could it be they have lost any sense of journalistic integrity—not that they ever had much to begin with? Whatever the reason,
corporate media is not reporting the actual news. They chase Trump around like a dog chasing a bone, gleefully watching their ratings—and their profits—soar.
And then comes the Elon Musk factor—the world’s richest supervillain is profiting in ways we can’t even begin to fathom. He’s openly setting his eyes on being the world’s first trillionaire while planning a colony on Mars. Personally, I vote to grant him his wish—put him on a rocket and say goodbye once and for all. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. So instead, we have to appeal to the American people and expose the truth—because that’s the one thing we are holding onto for dear life.
And the truth is this: Americans—ALL Americans, not just Democrats—do not want to see massive tax breaks for corporations and billionaires. No one is talking about this, but the Republican budget proposal includes $3.5 trillion in corporate tax breaks while slashing Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. The greed is endless. Nowhere was this ever mentioned on the campaign trail—but here we are. Now is the time to rise to the occasion and win back the working class of America.
That is our goal for 2026, 2028, and beyond. We are going to win them back—and never relinquish them again. The only way we do that is by doing right by them.
Democrats are not the party of the elites—at least, most of us aren’t anyway. We have a lot of battles ahead, but we stick together, we push out corporate influences in our party, and we will be victorious.
The fight for the soul of our nation is unfolding. It might feel like we’re weak right now—after all, Republicans control everything. But we have the people. And as the saying goes:
The people united will never be defeated.
I’ve been chanting that phrase at protests since I was six years old. My own kids—six and four years old—sometimes chant it around the house before bedtime when they refuse to go to sleep. I don’t think they fully grasp the meaning—but I do, and I know you do too.
We must stay strong. We must keep fighting. And we must be honest with each other every step of the way. That is my vow to you. I appreciate your support, and I look forward to winning again—undoing the damage that has been done to our country.
It will take time, but we will get it done.
In Solidarity,
Hassan Martini
