Dear Friend --

Starting this weekend, all Long Beach residents, regardless of symptoms, can receive COVID-19 testing at the Cabrillo High School testing location.

Expanding testing options is critical as we continue to reopen our economy. It allows us to identify who has the virus, isolate cases, slow transmission and save lives.

Effective May 30, the Cabrillo High School testing site, located at 2001 Santa Fe Ave., will offer COVID-19 testing to any resident who wants to be tested, whether they are exhibiting symptoms or not. Previously, only essential workers who were asymptomatic could be tested at City testing locations. The expanded testing is intended to provide testing availability for those who suspect or are concerned they have COVID-19.

The Cabrillo High School testing site is open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., seven days a week. Appointments are required and can be made online by clicking here or by calling 562.570.INFO (4636).

We have five additional testing sites across the city available for those exhibiting symptoms and individuals who are over 65 years of age or have underlying chronic health conditions, and information for those sites can be found online by clicking here.

The City remains committed to making testing available to all Long Beach residents. To date, Long Beach has conducted over 30,000 COVID-19 tests through four City-run sites, St. Mary Medical Center, a state-run site and private labs. In addition to these public testing options, individuals can receive COVID-19 testing through their healthcare provider.

Thank you,

Mayor Robert Garcia
