Governor Gordon Discusses Executive Criteria for Consideration of Legislation

During the taping of Cowboy State Daily’s Legislative Roundup, Governor Gordon outlined some of the criteria he will utilize to review bills as they make their way to his desk from the 44th Wyoming Legislature.

When reviewing a bill, the Governor can either sign the bill into law, veto the bill, or allow the bill to go into law without his signature; in the case of a veto, the Legislature can attempt an override with a supermajority vote which is a two-thirds vote taken in each chamber. Governor Gordon told political reporter Leo Wolfson that *he takes a number of factors into consideration when contemplating action. [ [link removed] ]*

Governor Thanks First Responders after I-80 Green River Tunnel Crash

Governor Gordon traveled to the site of the Green River tunnel crash on Interstate-80 where he met with local emergency response teams and led a public briefing on the incident. While the eastbound tunnel has reopened with head-to-head traffic, work continues in the westbound tunnel, with an extended closure expected.

"Thank you to the Sweetwater County emergency responders and all those locally helping support those working on the ground,” Governor Gordon said. “This is a tragic incident, but we will respond together and help our neighbors. That is the Wyoming way."

2025 Annual Prayer Breakfast carries message of selflessness
prayer

The Governor and First Lady were grateful for the opportunity to come together with local leaders and community members to worship and offer prayers for the people of Wyoming and our Nation at the annual Governor's Prayer Breakfast yesterday.

The message of selflessness from keynote speaker Justin “The Big Pygmy” Wren was both inspiring and so very timely. His story reminded us of the impacts our actions can have on improving the lives of others, both today and in the future.
