Businesses operating and people working are essential to any successful economy; however, because of the pandemic, neither of these are happening at the pace necessary to bring the U.S. economy back up to speed. Hi John,
Businesses operating and people working are essential to any successful economy; however, because of the pandemic, neither of these are happening at the pace necessary to bring the U.S. economy back up to speed.
State and local governments are doing their best to enable businesses to reopen their doors and workers to return to the job safely. They realize they have the sensitive job of balancing people’s livelihoods and their safety.
Arizona’s state House just passed a bill that will make it more difficult for lawyers to pursue fast cash “sue and settle” lawsuits against small businesses if someone contracts COVID-19 at work. This measure protects small businesses and encourages them to open their doors, helping to bring Arizona’s economy back to the state it was in before the pandemic.
While states navigate the road ahead, common sense steps should be taken to protect small businesses trying to get back on their feet and get people back to work.
Sincerely,
Casey Dietrich
