Hello, True Texans!
This week I had to pace myself to resist giving information overload and overwhelming all of us. It was just one hit after another in the State House. Check this out:
We knew the Speaker had deemed it unnecessary to take an actual vote on money he wanted to spend, but the spending was worse than we imagined. Not only did each of the 30 new Democrat Vice Chairs (given power by the Republicans, sigh) get a never-before-given budget of $5000, but every State Rep's office also received a hefty budget increase. Again, this was without any discussion or vote. The Speaker just decided it. This is a multi-million dollar hit to the taxpayers. Read it here.
The House voted itself yet another long, vacation weekend. And get this... several of the Reps were already absent! That's right. They just got back from a long weekend (after 4 other previous long weekends), and yet they were still taking time off from their mere 2-3 day work weeks and missed the vote to give themselves another long weekend! You can't make this stuff up. In fact, even the Chairman of the new Texas DOGE committee voted for the long weekend. Not that anyone believed a DOGE committee run by the politicians would hold any value anyway. If you want to see the list of names, I posted about it here. State Rep Brent Money pointed out this is the 6th long weekend, and over 25% of the session has slipped away. State Rep David Lowe also had a great tweet about it:
Obama's lawyer was removed as Texas House Parliamentarian... only to be given a new title of Texas House "Parliamentarian Counsel" with a salary of nearly $234,000!!! But hey, the Republicans keep sending out texts and mailers patting themselves on the backs for getting rid of Dem Chairs, so I guess there's nothing to worry about here. Read the story.
But don't get discouraged! It is NOT all bad news. For some reason the good news wasn't really talked about, but we shouted it loud and clear on social media, and y'all love it. How do we stay silent on something this great? Check this out...
Dallas GOP censures 2 State Reps -- this is HUGE! It's the first step in kicking them off the Republican ballot. It will now go before the State GOP, which means we all need to contact our SREC members and tell them we want the censure to go through. But even if the SREC (State Republican Executive Committee) is too weak to do what's right here, the Reps are already shaking in their boots! And that's exactly where we want them.
More County GOPs will be meeting in the near future to consider censure of additional State Reps. Make sure your Precinct Chair knows you are in favor of this!
Remember... the only reason we are having this fight is because we are winning! They are terrified of us and our power. Yes, the bad stuff is really bad and can be downright shocking, but don’t give up now! Also, if you're weary, you know our favorite State Reps are too. Please thank these State Reps if you get a chance because they are doing a fantastic job for us regardless of the shenanigans of the Undocumented Democrats (RINOs): Cain, Dorazio, Harrison, Hopper, Kerwin, Little, Louderback, Lowe, Lozano, Luther, Money, Olcott, Pierson, Richardson, Schatzline, Tinderholt, Toth, Virdell.
Keeping Up
How does anyone keep up with all this news? It happens so fast! Here are two great tools:
Texas Tough - Always Something New! First we announced our annual gala with actor Kevin Sorbo. It's huge. It will sell out. VIP tickets are going really fast.
Then I told you that our gala this year has even more fun stuff than usual: food, drinks, live music, dancing, cannons, fireworks... plus cards, dominoes, and a shooting contest.
After that we announced FREE line dancing lessons to get you ready.
Next I shared that we are the most affordable gala around... significantly less than any other we've seen, and we offer WAY more perks.
Last week I told you that my theme this year is We Are Family. And along with that theme, we're offering a special student rate so you can bring younger patriots because reaching the youth is my passion.
Now, I'm announcing a new sponsorship level created just for patriot-owned small businesses! We know patriots want to support patriots. We get asked all the time for referrals to trustworthy companies. So if you are a POB, we are offering the following sponsorship:
Patriot-Owned Small Business: $500 New this year! Promote your small business to 600 patriots! 2 General Admission tickets, name in program, logo on slide show
In fact, here's a list of all the sponsorships we have:
Please tell all the small business owners you know to consider a sponsorship! If we have a good enough response, we'll likely go ahead and start a POB directory.
