John,

It’s been nearly three months since schools across the country closed to curb the spread of COVID-19, and there has been an alarming increase in tips to the national crisis center of our Say Something Anonymous Reporting System.

Since the shelter-at-home orders began, the percentage of life-safety tips – where at least one life is in imminent danger – has nearly doubled.

Reports of abuse, suicidal ideation, depression, cyberbullying and self-harm are also accelerating, which is why our work to protect children from gun violence has not – and cannot – let up. That’s also why it’s so crucial to hear from you right now.

Before my video meeting with Mark and Nicole next week to discuss our most urgent priorities, we need to hear from 12,000 more supporters like you – starting with this question:

Are you concerned about the increase in reports of children in imminent danger?

Thank you so much for being part of our lifesaving work at a time when we need you more than ever.
