John,
This week, the U.S. House will vote on a budget resolution that lays the groundwork to cut at least $880 billion from Medicaid over ten years and at least $230 billion from SNAP nutrition benefits.
They’re seeking to take health care and food assistance away from vulnerable communities in order to fund another round of massive tax breaks for the wealthy and fund Trump’s mass deportation agenda.
But thanks to our advocacy, we’re beginning to see fault lines form in the Republican caucus over these harmful cuts.1 We’re keeping the pressure on Congress to reject a budget that puts tax cuts for the rich over health care and food for the poor. Rush a $5 donation today to fund the fight to protect Medicaid and SNAP.

On average, close to one-quarter of the people in congressional districts nationwide receive Medicaid.2 Over 41 million people received SNAP nationwide in 2024.3 I’ve had the honor of joining constituents on calls with Congressional offices repeatedly, and people are speaking out, sharing powerful stories of the impact these programs make in their own lives and for others in their communities. Every member of Congress needs to know how important these programs are for their own constituents.
Our supporters and allies have sent tens of thousands of messages to Congress, explaining how these cuts would affect their lives and decimate communities. We need Congress to keep hearing from us before this week’s expected vote.

John,
First steps have now been taken in the House and Senate towards a massive shift of the nation’s wealth away from everyday people and to the already overflowing coffers of billionaires.
Let us be clear: these first steps do not set an inevitable course. We can and must stop this dangerous path.
These proposed cuts to crucial services such as health care and nutrition will do nothing except inflict pain and suffering onto the people who need help the most. We’ve already sent thousands of messages to Congress demanding they reject these cruel cuts, which will harm our communities in order to fund more tax cuts for the rich.
We need your help to rally our national allies and keep the pressure on Congress. Donate $5 today to fight back against these devastating cuts before it’s too late.

The House Budget Committee outlined a plan to cut vital services including Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and education by $1.5 trillion or more over the next decade in order to pay for $4.5 trillion in tax breaks heavily skewed towards the ultra-wealthy.
But that wasn’t enough for some people.
House extremists demanded assurances that Congress would add on even more cuts to health care, food, education, and other basic needs programs to pay for their tax cuts for the wealthy and Trump’s mass deportation agenda.
Rep. Chip Roy, who sits on the House Budget Committee, said:1
“Today's budget resolution will enable us to reach $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and potentially more than $2 trillion in spending cuts over ten years.
“Most urgently, this sets us up to rush $300 billion in funding for border security, immigration enforcement and the military so those critical missions continue uninterrupted.”
When the House returns from their break this coming week, they’re expected to vote on this monstrosity of a bill that would take from the poor to give to the rich. Thanks to our grassroots advocacy, we’re beginning to seek fractures in the Republican caucus on cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.2 Let’s keep the pressure on in advance of a vote this coming week!
Rush a $5 donation today to power our grassroots and in-person advocacy demanding Congress reject a budget that will do nothing but hurt the most vulnerable communities in order to fund more tax cuts for the rich and a mass deportation plan that is tearing our communities apart.
