Long before I got involved in the world of politics, I took a chance, like so many small business owners do, and opened Denver's very first brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company. At Wynkoop, we were known for our unique beers like the Timberland Pale and Sagebrush Stout, which we offered at just $2.25 per pint – a great deal compared to mainstream options!

But Wynkoop wasn’t just about beer. It was a place where people with different perspectives came together, debated, and found common ground—not because we all agreed, but because we believed in solving problems and putting in the work to make things better. That experience shaped how I approach leadership to this day.

And right now, Washington could use more of that approach.

Instead of working together to solve problems and lower prices, the Trump administration’s chaotic and illegal actions will jeopardize rural health care, hurt our veterans, and raise prices for working families.
