As caring people in a democracy, the heart of our values is the belief that power belongs to the people, and our government should prioritize families and communities over the wealthy few. However, billionaires have taken control of our government, rigging it in their favor. While ordinary people struggle, billionaires slash funding for essential programs like our healthcare, food assistance and child care. 

From parents of young children, to immigrants and seniors, and young people trying to build their future, so many of us are being left behind while the very rich enjoy excess. Now Congress is considering a budget proposal that includes massive cut breaks for the wealthy that is paid for by cutting vital programs like Medicaid, food programs, and childcare supports that help us thrive. These billionaires are not just hoarding wealth—they are undermining the future of millions. We must stand together, mobilize, and fight back against this billionaire greed.

We the people have the power to reclaim what is rightfully ours and restore fairness in our government and democracy. It's time to rise up and say: We the People, Not the Billionaires! Together, we can demand justice and bend history back toward what is good, right, and fair, because We the People ARE the power. We have a right to a future where our dignity and needs, not billionaires, are centered and heard. Here’s what you can do now:

1. Call (202) 224-3121 and ask to speak to your congressional representative's office. Tell them to vote NO on a budget that gives tax breaks to the wealthy and slashes safety net programs.

2. Attend our press conference tomorrow morning: Monday, February 24 at 10am County Administration Building, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego -- (East Plaza, across from the Jack in the Box)
