Dear Friend,

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.

I must begin today by expressing my prayers with the healthcare workers and law enforcement at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. On behalf of Shelley and I, we want to express our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of West York Borough Police Officer Andrew Duarte. His loss weighs heavy on all Pennsylvanians.

The American people would rather have DOGE dividends in their pockets than see billions wasted on ideological foreign initiatives. By rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, DOGE has already saved taxpayers over $55 billion—delivering real results and reinforcing President Donald J. Trump’s America-First agenda. Check out my interview on “National Report” on Newsmax. Click here or below to watch.

I joined ABC's "News Live," where I laid out the facts: The Biden administration grew government spending to an unsustainable level—now President Trump and DOGE are taking action to restore accountability. Cutting waste, reducing inefficiencies, and focusing on economic growth will benefit hardworking Americans. Lower taxes, more private-sector jobs, and less government bureaucracy—that’s how we rebuild American prosperity. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.

I also appeared on Fox Radio's "Fox Across America" to discuss DOGE and Governor Shapiro's lawsuit. Click here <[link removed]> or below to listen.

On Monday, I called in for my regular interview on the “RJ Harris Breakfast Show “on WHP 580. We discussed DOGE’s latest findings on waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, as well as Governor Josh Shapiro’s baseless lawsuit against the Trump administration’s lawful and necessary actions to ensure accountability for American taxpayer dollars. Congratulations to Howard Lutnick on his confirmation as Secretary of Commerce. His decades of leadership at Cantor Fitzgerald, especially in the face of adversity, have proven his resilience, business acumen, and leadership. The U.S. Department of Commerce’s mission is to create conditions for economic growth and opportunity in America, and Howard is more than qualified to lead that charge. His commitment to implementing President Trump’s agenda will strengthen American industries, put America First, and bring economic success to businesses nationwide. I look forward to seeing the impact of his leadership in this critical role.

I would also like to congratulate Kelly Loeffler on her confirmation as Administrator of the Small Business Administration! With a strong track record as a business leader, she’s well-equipped to champion economic growth and expand opportunities for American small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration plays a vital role in supporting America’s small businesses. Kelly will strongly advocate returning SBA to its mission of expanding access to capital, reducing burdensome regulations, and creating an environment where businesses can innovate and grow. Under Trump’s pro-growth agenda, she will work to empower small businesses, create jobs, and strengthen Main Street America!

Congratulations to Kash Patel on his confirmation as our new Director of the FBI! Kash has dedicated his career to protecting this country, from his time as a national security prosecutor to working with our most elite military units to track down terrorists. He served in key positions, including as a National Security Council official, chief of staff to the acting U.S. Secretary of Defense, and senior advisor to the acting Director of National Intelligence under President <>Trump. And now, as FBI Director, his mission is clear: to restore public trust, ensure due process, and refocus the FBI on its core purpose—keeping the American people safe.

With President Trump's leadership, Kash will ensure the FBI serves all Americans—without bias, political games, or fear. The era of two-tiered justice is over. It’s time to get back to law and order.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump was sworn in a month ago, and his administration has been a resounding success. Promises Made, Promises Kept can easily define the President’s actions thus far, reflected in his unbelievable polling numbers. The major news networks can’t stand it. Click here <[link removed]> or below to read a comprehensive report from the White House on his administration's accomplishments.

<[link removed]>

Of all the successes of this administration, none may be greater than the work the President has done to dramatically slow the flood of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs from our southern border. Here is a list of just some of the President’s actions and accomplishments concerning securing our border.

- President Trump declared <[link removed]> a national emergency at the border and deployed <[link removed]> the military, including the 10th Mountain Division <[link removed]>, to secure our nation.
- Illegal border crossings have hit lows not seen in decades <[link removed]> as U.S. Border Patrol is re-empowered to once again enforce the law.

- ABC News <[link removed]>: “From Jan. 21 through Jan. 31, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% from the same period in 2024, according to data obtained by ABC News. In the 11 days after Jan. 20, migrants apprehended at ports of entry declined by 93%.”

- Illegal aliens have started turning around <[link removed]> in droves amid the crackdown.

- The Department of Homeland Security announced <[link removed]> that arrests of criminal illegal immigrants have doubled under President Trump.

- President Trump signed <[link removed]> the Laken Riley Act into law, which requires <[link removed]> illegal immigrants arrested or charged with theft or violence to be detained — honoring the legacy of Laken Riley, a Georgia college student brutally murdered by an illegal alien released into the country.

- President Trump ended <[link removed]> “catch-and-release,” reversing the dangerous Biden-era policy that released dangerous illegal aliens back into our communities.

- President Trump shut down <[link removed]> the “CBP One” app, which “paroled <[link removed]>” more than one million illegal immigrants into the country.

- A migrant shelter in San Diego announced <[link removed]> it will shut down after it has received no new arrivals since President Trump took office.

- President Trump terminated <[link removed]> all taxpayer-funded public benefits for illegal aliens.

- President Trump ramped up <[link removed]> deportation flights of criminal illegal aliens.

- After President Trump announced <[link removed]> “urgent and decisive retaliatory measures” against Colombia over its refusal to accept deportation flights from the U.S., the country’s president quickly backtracked <[link removed]> — even offering the use of his personal plane for the deportations.

- El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele offered <[link removed]> to accept deportees of any nationality, including violent American criminals currently imprisoned in the U.S.

- President Trump began transferring <[link removed]> criminal illegal aliens to Guantanamo Bay ahead of their repatriation back to their own countries.

- President Trump re-established <[link removed]> the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.

- President Trump restarted <[link removed]> construction of the border wall.

- The Trump Administration officially declared <[link removed]> Tren de Aragua, MS-13, the Sinaloa Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the United Cartels, the Gulf Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, and the Michoacán Family as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

- New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) agreed to allow federal immigration officials to operate on Rikers Island and deport illegal alien criminals following <[link removed]> his meeting with Border Czar Tom Homan.

- Mexico announced <[link removed]> a deployment of 10,000 troops to the border to combat illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking, while Canada announced <[link removed]> a flurry of measures to combat fentanyl manufacturing and trafficking following President Trump’s imposition of tariffs <[link removed]> on the two countries.

- President Trump implemented <[link removed]> an additional 10% tariff on imports from China to stem the flow of illegal aliens and fentanyl.

- President Trump ordered <[link removed]> an end to birthright citizenship.

- President Trump suspended <[link removed]> the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.

- The Department of Justice filed suit <[link removed]> against the State of New York and some of its elected officials over their willful failure to follow federal immigration law and announced <[link removed]> that it will take action against so-called “sanctuary cities” for their obstruction of U.S. law.

- The Department of Homeland Security “clawed back <[link removed]>” tens of millions of dollars in funds paid by rogue FEMA officials to house illegal aliens in luxury New York City hotels.

- President Trump reinstated <[link removed]> the death penalty for federal capital crimes.

The work of the President and his administration has been a triumphant success. For four years, Joe Biden and his administration rolled back any measure to protect our borders. Within days and weeks, President Trump has successfully led efforts to strengthen our border and protect American citizens.

Yesterday, I attended the Susquehanna County Lincoln Day Breakfast, hosted by the Susquehanna County Republican Group. I always enjoy speaking with so many engaged conservatives who are committed to fighting for the America First Agenda. It was also a pleasure to see and connect with so many fellow elected officials who are working hard to deliver results for our communities.

Thank you to Donna Cosmello and the entire team for the invitation and for organizing such a fantastic event.

Yesterday, I enjoyed a great evening at the Lycoming County Lincoln Day Dinner, hosted by the Lycoming County Republican Committee and Chairman Don Peters. Events like these highlight the energy and commitment of Republicans across Pennsylvania who are working to move our country forward and advance the America First Agenda.

It was great to have our new State party chairman Greg Rothman in attendance at the Lycoming County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner. Chairman Rothman gave a great speech thanking Lycoming County for playing an important role in our election victories and as well stated how closely the state GOP will work with Lycoming County and all counties in continuing our registration and get out the vote efforts. I have know Greg very well for many years, as many of us have, and he is very prepared and has the experience to do an outstanding job as our state party Chairman.

On Monday, we celebrated Presidents’ Day, an exclusively American day, during which we honor the presidency, the Constitution, and the Separation of Powers, laid out in Articles I, II, and III. The Executive Powers are established by Article II. Followed and enforced by the father of our country, George Washington, while president, forbade anyone from ever referring to him as anything more than Mr. President — there were no “your highnesses” within earshot of George Washington. There were many predictions around the world that our first president, George Washington, would not leave the office, but he did quite willingly, quite voluntarily, while his countrymen pleaded with him to remain.

We have a great country and great people. We are a lasting constitutional republic. As Benjamin Franklin, a great Founding Father and Pennsylvania, once said, “If we can keep it." George Washington, and thankfully all of our Founders, were completely determined to form a government by the people and for the people. There is a desire today by some to change it so that we have a government that rules the people, but this will not stand in America. The people will rule the government. Let’s resolve to do our part for our families and all American families to keep America…America.

Tuesday was National Battery Day! The battery industry plays a crucial role in Pennsylvania’s economy, employing over 20,000 people, many of them in PA-09. Through my USA Batteries Act and other actions, I'm working to level the playing field for American battery manufacturers by fighting to repeal a tax that currently gives foreign battery producers an unfair advantage. This is National FFA Week. Agriculture is woven into the fabric of our commonwealth, contributing nearly $132.5 billion to our economy and sustaining generations of tradition. The young leaders in FFA will carry on that legacy, combining hard work with innovation to keep Pennsylvania’s farms and communities thriving. Today’s FFA members will shape the future of agriculture here and across the country.

May God continue to bless our nation. I look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan Meuser
