John, our petition asking Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to shut down Trump’s twitter is catching fire. We received thousands of signatures last night and Trump is already lashing out.

Trump’s losing it, John.

For the first time ever, Twitter placed a fact-check warning on one of Trump’s tweets – and he is furious.

In response, the president began preparing an executive order last night to crack down on social media platforms who he claims are “silencing Republicans.” It’s a clear threat of legal action against those who try to stop his misinformation agenda.

Twitter Places Fact-Checking Warning on Trump Tweet for 1st Time

This fact-check warning is a big step in the right direction, but we know that it isn’t enough. That’s why we’ve been putting pressure on Twitter since last year to permanently suspend Trump’s account.

Trump’s panicking now because he knows that the movement to take away his Twitter propaganda machine is quickly growing. He knows that his power comes from the ability to spread misinformation and mislead voters.

Will you help us crank up the pressure? We need an additional 10,000 signatures today on our petition demanding Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to do the right thing and suspend Trump’s twitter account.

Since we launched our petition last night, the response has been incredible. We received thousands of signatures from folks who agree that we can’t allow Trump to continue spreading misinformation and hate speech on Twitter.

For too long, companies like Twitter have given Trump and his friends a platform from which they have deceived the public. Giving false medical advice about COVID-19, threatening foreign governments, polluting our feeds with fake news stories — time and time again we’ve seen that there are real and dangerous consequences to Trump’s tweets.

We’ve been asking Twitter to take action for years. Almost exactly one year ago today, we delivered over 200,000 petition signatures from our movement to Twitter's headquarters to demand that the company #SuspendTrump.

We made so much noise that the company was forced to respond and sent Women’s March a personal letter, so we’ve kept up the pressure.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey knows all eyes are on him again so it’s time to raise our voices and demand him to stand up to Trump’s threats.

Please sign our petition to Twitter calling on them to permanently suspend Trump’s account. If we can get another 10,000 signatures tonight, we’ll have the public support we need to grow our momentum.

Keep it up,

Women’s March Team
