 I wear many hats these days: Congresswoman, mom, wife, daughter, small business owner, proud Oregonian… etc. But one of my favorite ‘hats’ that I wear is sports mom.  As a sports mom (and fellow sports lover), I’ve learned it’s not about the effort you bring to game day that ultimately matters. It’s the work you put in long before the big game that makes a world of difference. All of the early morning team meetings or the late night practices — these are the things that fuel a team’s success. Well, I’ve learned that campaigns are the exact same way. It’s the work you put in long before the exciting campaign rallies or the TV interviews or the ballots arrive that fuels a campaign to victory. That’s why I’m writing. Even though Team Bynum is a ways away from the next “game day,” it’s going to take a full team effort to bring home the win once again. Early grassroots support is the best thing we can do to prepare, so I need to ask: Is there any amount you can pitch in to my re-election campaign today? Even $1, $3, or $5 will make an impact.
