John, under Donald Trump, the U.S. is poised to lose its status as a global science leader.
Trump’s assault on U.S. research isn’t just threatening scientists’ funding and job security. From canceling grant review panels, implementing a hiring freeze and a communication lockdown at the National Institutes of Health, and censoring language around topics like climate change and diversity, these attacks are jeopardizing the integrity of key climate research.
SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko (NY-20) is leading the charge to pass the bipartisan Scientific Integrity Act, which would set clear, enforceable standards for federal agencies and federally-funded research to keep public science independent from meddling by political and special interests. But if we’re going to stop these attacks on critical climate research, we need your help:
While these attacks are alarming, we’ve waged this fight before — and won.
The Trump administration tried to silence science eight years ago, but we fought back. And we’ll do it again. The difference is that the White House is moving even faster than last time, so we need the resources more than ever to meet this moment swiftly.
This isn’t a game, John. The Trump administration is playing politics with our health, our environment, our future. We have to fight back.
Onward,
SEEC PAC
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
