John, dangerous conspiracy theorist and anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been serving as the Secretary of Health and Human Services for just nine days, and already thousands of employees across its biggest agencies have been terminated.

These job cuts jeopardize key programs and threaten public health. Terminated workers were responsible for bird flu research, medical device safety, Affordable Care Act oversight, emergency preparedness and response, reducing maternal mortality, and improving Medicare and Medicaid care. Cuts also struck HHS’s Administration for Children and Families, which funds child care and Head Start.
