REC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT by Norm Grant
When members and guests walk into the REC meetings the first person they see is Joan Johnson. That's because she has kept attendance, by precinct, since 2006. Joan has been with the REC since 1996 and served as Secretary from 2000 to 2006. Joan was baptized in Brooklyn, raised in Philadelphia until her Dad, a Naval Academy graduate who served in WWII and Korea, moved the family to D.C. Joan then met her husband Bob, a Florida native and Vietnam veteran, while working in Maryland. They retired in Vero Beach in 1996. Bob and Joan took attendance together after her tenure as Secretary. They have been in organizations together for 20 years, including Republican Women's Club and Republicans for Life. Please thank her the next time you see her.
When asked what she'd like President Trump to concentrate on, she said without hesitation, "national defense". She is confident in his attention to the border, communications, infrastructure, and national security. Joan is also confidant that the REC is headed in the right direction and knows "Lamarre will do great things" as the new Chairwoman. Joan was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding contributions to the REC at the February meeting.
