VIDEO OF THE DAY: Federal agency TVs hacked in humiliating prank at Trump and Elon's expense
Hackers apparently took over the television screens at the Department of Housing and Urban Development yesterday and broadcast a stomach-turning, AI-generated video of Donald Trump kissing the (two left) feet of Elon Musk, with the words "LONG LIVE THE REAL KING" emblazoned across the screen. Now, clearly, the video is a fake; were it real, the MAGA cult leader would have Phony Stark's entire foot in his mouth. But we digress. Apologies for anyone reading today's newsletter over breakfast. It's a lot to take in, we know.

GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw caught on hot mic saying he'd "f*cking kill" Tucker Carlson
After wrapping up an interview with conservative British news channel GB News, GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw was caught in a hot mic moment absolutely lambasting testicle-tanning enthusiast Tucker Carlson, calling the former Fox News blowhard "the worst person" after casually admitting, "If I ever meet him, I’ll f*cking kill him." Oh, schadenfreude, you old friend.

BTC leads collective of progressive creators with plan to take back the internet from Joe Rogan and the right-wing machine
Chorus: This election has made it painfully clear that Democrats' messages are just not getting through the tsunami of right-wing propaganda and lies flooding through social media, and we have no real answer to a Joe Rogan or a Ben Shapiro...until now! Chorus Collective is a new collaborative founded by creators like Brian Tyler Cohen, Leigh McGowan (Politics Girl), Roland Martin, David Pakman, Elizabeth Booker Houston, and Adam Mockler, who are bringing their audience of 40 million people together to create a new infrastructure to scale their voices and build support for more creators like them. Chorus aims to not only amplify progressive voices but also uplift new creators and build a left-wing social media ecosystem that supports its voices ALL the time, not just in the months leading up to an election. Will you chip in to help Chorus get off the ground and help break the right-wing stranglehold on social media?
Outcry as DC US attorney claims he and colleagues are "President Trump’s lawyers"
While Republicans bitterly wept and moaned throughout the Biden presidency about how the Department of Justice was being “weaponized” by enforcing the law against guilty criminals like Donald Trump and the January 6 rioters, it’s clear that they were in fact simply mad they couldn't weaponize the department for themselves — because that’s exactly what's playing out in the capital right now. US District Attorney for Washington DC, Edward R. Martin Jr., issued a shocking statement on Feb 24, 2025, in which he declared, "As President Trump’s lawyers, we are proud to protect his leadership as our President and we are vigilant in standing against entities like the AP that refuse to put America first." This is not the first time Martin has made it exceedingly clear that he is nothing but a partisan shill with the full intention of abusing his position to advance the MAGA cult leader's agenda; Martin infamously issued spooky, vaguely threatening letters to Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Robert Garcia accusing them of "threatening public officials" after Garcia called Elon Musk a "dick." The Department of Justice is NOT the president’s personal attack dog, it is an independent body dedicated to upholding the law, and if Congress cared one iota about the Constitution this bozo would be impeached so fast his head would spin. Alas...

Elon Musk email demand that fed workers justify their jobs or resign is apparently no longer mandatory — as Trump adds fuel to the confusion fire
The world's richest man-toddler is making a real big mess of things in his brief tenure as Donald's shadow president. The preposterous email sent to ALL FEDERAL WORKERS last Saturday demanding they justify their continued employment or face immediate termination — gaping security risks be damned — apparently is no longer mandatory, according to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), who sent it on behalf of Musk. There was immediate and predictable pushback from multiple agency heads, including newly minted FBI Director Kash Patel, who instructed his department to ignore the ultimatum, throwing the federal government into yet another state of chaos. Musk publicly announced the move on nüTwitter over the weekend, writing: "Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation." That is apparently no longer the case. Not to be outdone or sidelined, Donald poured water on the grease fire, rambling on from the Oval Office Monday evening, stating, "There was a lot of genius in sending it. We're trying to find out if people are working, and so we're sending a letter to people — 'Please tell us what you did last week.' If people don't respond, it’s very possible that there is no such person or they’re not working." Wait, did the president of the United States just claim this hare-brained scheme is actually an attempt to root out phantom people from the federal workforce? Did the president get into Elon's ketamine stash? What the hell is happening here?

Warrant issued in DC for Republican congressman over alleged assault of 27-year-old girlfriend — but never signed by pro-Trump prosecutor
Police in Washington, DC, are seeking the arrest of Florida Rep. Cory Mills, a 44-year-old married father of two, over assault allegations leveled against him last week by his 27-year-old girlfriend, a report claims. In one of three separate police reports on the alleged incident, the unnamed victim said she was assaulted in Mills’ luxury penthouse and that he told her to lie about the origin of fresh bruises on her arm. She claimed that Mills injured her last Wednesday, but she later "recanted" what she told responding officers in DC and attributed the bruises to her active lifestyle. According to police, a warrant for the Florida Republican’s arrest was sent to US Attorney Ed Martin — yep, that Ed Martin — but never signed. Draw whatever obvious conclusions you may.

Supreme Court rejects anti-abortion challenges to clinic "buffer zones"
Now for a dollop of less-than-depressing news, the conservative-stacked Supreme Court on Monday surprisingly declined to take up two cases involving "buffer zone" ordinances, which limit protests around abortion clinics and which anti-abortion activists have spent years trying to dismantle. The high court didn’t explain why it declined to hear arguments in the cases, but far-right Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas predictably said they would have preferred to take them up. The pair clearly have a thing for stripping bodily autonomy from literally every woman in the country, after all.
Judicial branch employees — which Trump does not oversee — got Musk’s email asking for their accomplishments
To be fair, fascism has never really cared much for boundaries or jurisdictions.
Judge blocks Trump administration’s "unlawful and harmful" immigration raids at houses of worship
A federal judge issued an order Monday preventing the wannabe dictator's administration from carrying out immigration enforcement actions at places of worship. In a 59-page ruling, US District Judge Theodore Chang agreed with a coalition of Sikhs, Quakers, and Baptists that immigration raids at their respective houses of worship would violate their religious liberties. Chang wrote, "Armed law enforcement officers operating in or at places of worship pursuant to the 2025 policy will adversely affect the ability of Quakers and Sikhs to follow their religious beliefs or worship freely. And given that each of Plaintiffs has religious beliefs that cause them to welcome and serve immigrants, has significant immigrant membership or operates in communities with significant immigrant populations, and has not disavowed that they will continue to serve immigrants both with and without legal status, it is reasonable to expect that DHS will direct immigration enforcement toward Plaintiffs specifically."

And the chaos continues...
But wait there's (always) more
Meanwhile, elsewhere...
Hope...
