Michael Fox is a longtime multimedia journalist and radio reporter based in Latin America. He has spent the better part of the last 20 years in the region.
His 2024 podcast Under the Shadow – that we also highly recommend - looked at the history of U.S. intervention in Central America, by taking listeners to places across the region where things happened. Rights Action’s Grahame Russell was featured in several of the episodes.
Michael is now launching a new podcast series called Stories of Resistance
Think of the episodes as Eduardo Galeano-inspired vignettes for a Trump 2.0 world. Glimpses of inspiration amid complicated human and Nation State times on this, our only planet.
Stories of Resistance is investigative journalism, prose, poetry, historical memory, reflection on struggle, and -above all– story telling.
To help Michael ramp this podcast up to three days a week, he needs our help. He’s launched a Kickstarter to help raise funds for the project. There are four days to go in the campaign.

Here are two episodes of Stories of Resistance
Victor Jara’s Last Words
In the wake of Chile’s 1973 coup, Chilean folk musician Victor Jara was detained with thousands of others. But amid the suffering and chaos, Victor Jara found a paper and pencil.
