John,
Right now, millions of Americans are unemployed due to the COVID-19 crisis. Schools across the country are closed. People are relying on the internet even more than ever before, and those who lack access to the internet are at risk of falling behind.
Abigail knows how important access to broadband is. In 2019, she led a bipartisan initiative to bring internet access to over 17,000 households in Central Virginia. And last month, she led a bipartisan coalition advocating for federal investments to ensure broadband access coast to coast, as we rebuild our economy in the wake of COVID-19.
All members of Congress need to understand the need for expanded access to broadband. Sign this petition to encourage other members of Congress to join Abigail and take action to expand broadband internet access.

Our rural communities here in Virginia and across the country need access to high speed, broadband internet. Without the internet, students can’t access online classrooms and academic materials. Unemployed Americans have difficulty applying for unemployment benefits and accessing job resources online. Veterans struggle to access critical VA benefits. Communities without broadband suffer as they attempt to draw investments, businesses, and residents.
Abigail has been a leader in closing the “digital divide,” the gap between those with internet and computer access and those without.
Will you join Abigail in the call for Congress to expand broadband internet access?

Thank you for taking action,
Team Spanberger
