Today, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on budget legislation that would make harmful cuts to Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Medicaid provides health coverage for more than 70 million people for services such as pre-natal visits, pediatric health care, and geriatric health care. At least 40 million people receive vital food assistance via SNAP. Without these valuable services, the health and lives of poor and vulnerable children and seniors will be threatened.
