Dear John,

I wanted to make sure you saw my email from earlier this month about how you can help ADL fight antisemitism, hate and misinformation online and protect vulnerable and marginalized people.

With large numbers of Jews feeling less safe online and some avoiding being identified as Jewish on social media out of fear, our work to stop online antisemitism, hate and misinformation has never been more important.

You can help hold these influential online platforms accountable with your gift today.

Dear John,

If you’ve ever felt the fear of facing antisemitism or hate online, you’re not alone.

Nearly two-thirds of the Jews we surveyed last year said they felt less safe online than in the previous year. Many reported avoiding identifying as Jewish on social media altogether.

Tragically, we all too frequently witness how online hate can turn into physical violence — especially when fueled by the rise in extensive prejudice against Jews.

Give Now to Fight Online Hate

Social media companies continue to cut their content moderation teams, despite promises to increase efforts to curb antisemitism on their platforms.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, recently announced it will no longer fact check posts made on its platforms. And instead of moderating content, the company will rely on users to report messages containing antisemitism, hate, and misinformation. But a recent ADL Center for Technology and Society report found that Meta took action on virtually zero user reports of antisemitic and hateful content.

We’ve also seen alarming levels of hate and harassment in online multiplayer gaming. Participants in our recent research reported witnessing racial slurs and disruptive behavior in nearly half of their game sessions.

That’s why ADL needs your immediate support.
