Permits for nearly 700 projects that will fill or destroy wetlands across the country will move forward without a real environmental review.

Within hours of taking office, Trump declared a bogus energy emergency.

He then handed the Project 2025 wish list for fossil fuel extraction to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, now wrongfully fast-tracking permits on almost 700 pending projects from Alaska to Florida.

According to a Center for Biological Diversity analysis, approving those permits could result in significant harm to polar bears, whooping cranes, manatees, salmon, sea turtles and numerous other threatened and endangered species.

The national wetland destruction plan is illegal: It violates both the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act.

These legacy laws — passed decades ago with bipartisan support — are the most powerful tools we've got to protect wildlife, water and wetlands. They can't be wiped out with a Trump pen stroke.

Federal laws require an environmental review of all projects affecting wetlands and the wildlife who depend on them, so we let the Corps know we're planning to sue.

Trump knows environmental review would block his giveaway to corporations.

That's why it's so important to stand up to his illegal maneuvers and stop the destruction before it begins.

We filed 266 suits against Trump's first administration, and we're operating at an even faster pace today.
