John,
Knowing someone’s coffee, sub, bagel, or poké order goes a long way! The people who really know you know exactly what sauce to get you with your chicken tenders.
That kind of care, attention to the details, noticing what makes someone feel safe, seen, and comfortable—it’s part of what our social workers do for the youth we serve. Often, kids in our program have seen some of the worst of humanity—adults who manipulate, break trust, and victimize them. So when Love146 steps into their lives, they don’t always trust us right away.
That’s okay. It’s healthy, even. After what they’ve been through, it makes sense to be cautious.
Trust isn’t instant.
Trust is built by showing up again and again, and noticing the little things. Then when a kid calls us from a hospital, a police station, or a park, we can bring them their favorite food, game, or comfort item. We can be there to help them figure out how to move forward.
That attention to who they are makes all the difference.
It allows us to personalize their goals for a recovery process they can actually imagine. We help them take tangible, achievable, and even physical steps toward something that can feel impossibly far away at first—a future free from exploitation.
We have 5 days left to meet our $93,000 need for funding our Survivor Care Program.

Your donation does what other funding doesn't do
Our Survivor Care program is anchored by multi-year government and foundation grants, but these funds are often restricted and don’t cover all of our youth’s needs.
What has always made our Survivor Care program strong is the generosity of individual supporters who step up to fill the gaps and wrap around these grants. Your donations provide the flexibility to meet the unique and urgent needs of youth in our care, ensuring that no child goes without the safety and support they deserve after trafficking.

Founded in 2002, Love146 journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow. Our prevention education and survivor care work has impacted more than 81,000 young people. Our work is achieved through the power of relationships and collaboration, listening to those with lived experience and diverse backgrounds, scaling proven practices, and challenging the systems that leave children vulnerable. Our core commitment is to do what is best for children.
