I understand the struggles Ohioans face every day – unlike Vivek Ramaswamy
John, it’s Amy Acton, candidate for Ohio Governor.
I am an Ohio native, and I’ve spent my career giving back to the state that I grew up in. From serving as a nonprofit leader advocating for Ohio’s physical and economic wellbeing to guiding Ohioans through a once-in-a-lifetime public health crisis as the Director of the Department of Public Health during COVID-19, I have always worked to make life better for Ohioans.
But my opponent, far-right Trump loyalist Vivek Ramaswamy has already shown that he will back Trump – even at the expense of Ohioans.
He recently appeared on Fox News (of course) where he PRAISED Donald Trump’s “fast and furious” executive orders.
For my opponent, these rapid changes are something to be “grateful” for – but he’s so out of touch with the reality of what Trump’s actions mean for Ohioans.
Trump is censoring critical information about health services and he has blocked the CDC from updating medical professionals about disease outbreaks. That’s going to hurt Ohio’s ability to be prepared for emergencies. Plus, he’s enacting massive tariffs that are going to have a devastating impact on the affordability of common goods. And Vivek Ramaswamy thinks Ohioans should be “grateful” for that?
John, Vivek Ramaswamy does not understand the struggles the average Ohioan faces every day – but I do.
Growing up, my family experienced periods of homelessness. My brother and I often wondered where we were going to sleep at night or when our next hot meal would be – and I know what I experienced is the same painful reality for too many Ohioans.
As Governor, I will NEVER turn my back on those in need. I will work head-on with people across party lines to make life better for all Ohioans – not just the wealthy and the powerful.
