The Labor for Higher Education coalition is a group of hundreds of thousands of college and university workers who are coming together to say: Hands off our health care, research and jobs!

Its next big event is a rally at the Department of Health and Human Services headquarters in Washington, D.C., to expose how President Trump and Elon Musk’s attacks on research and higher education funding are hurting public health while siphoning off public resources for private gain.

For those who can’t attend in person, higher education workers and allies will join together online at the same time to tell our legislators and elected officials: Hands off our health care, research, jobs and education!

The Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE’s) attacks on research could result in layoffs, and program and school closures, and harm local economies that depend on the economic impact of these colleges and universities. Lifesaving research on topics such as cancer, viral pandemics, heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s won’t be completed, or even have begun.

And higher education workers are now facing unprecedented job insecurity.
