 Social Security isn’t just a life-saving program for America’s seniors. It’s a commitment that our nation made over 80 years ago — a commitment I’ve proudly worked to uphold since my first day in Washington. In Congress, I’ve voted to expand Social Security for public sector retirees like police officers and teachers, secured millions of dollars in backlogged payments for my constituents, and stood up against every effort to reduce these hard-earned benefits. Since Elon Musk was named as the leader of the so-called “Department of Government Efficiency,” he has forced workers in the Social Security Administration to step down — workers whose very job is making sure Americans receive the benefits they’ve earned. Now, without those public servants in the way, Musk has gained access to the main Social Security database — giving him the power to withhold Americans’ Social Security benefits on a whim and fire anyone who objects to his plans. Elon Musk’s playbook is crystal clear: He wants to cut off your Social Security benefits, and then use those savings to give himself a massive tax cut. Unfortunately, we can’t even count on Republicans in Congress to stop him. Last year, the vast majority of House Republicans supported a budget proposal to cut Social Security benefits for 257 million Americans! That means the best way to put a stop to these attacks is by electing a Congress that will never be afraid to stand up to unelected billionaires like Musk — and that’s why I’m asking for your support.
