Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners on topics relevant to Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.  

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission meets on Wednesday, March 5 at 6 p.m. Long Range Planning will be presenting on the draft Clinton Subarea Plan. The meeting will also include a review and discussion of the Community Based Organizations’ (CBOs) recommendations that were presented to the Planning Commission on February 4 and 19, 2025. Board of County Commissioners

Long Range Planning will be presenting on the draft Clinton Subarea Plan at the BOCC on Wednesday, March 12. Meeting materials will be available in the agenda center later next week. 

Engagement Opportunities – Reminder Meeting Tonight & Comment Period Open

Tonight, Monday February 24, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, the County is hosting an open house at the Clinton Community Hall (6411 S Central Ave, Clinton, WA) to discuss the draft Clinton Subarea Plan. Following the open house, there will be a presentation during the Clinton Community Council meeting that starts at 6:00 PM.

Public comments will be accepted on this draft plan until March 21, 2025. Comments can be submitted via U.S. Mail to the Planning and Community Development Department, 1 NE 7th St, Coupeville, WA 98239, via email to [email protected], or via our public engagement website www.islandcounty2045.com/compplan/clinton.
