Trump is censoring climate data farmers need to adapt to extreme weather. [[link removed] ]

Dear Friend,

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently removed whole sections of its website that focused on climate. Farmers rely on this information to adapt their practices and access funding in the face of climate change. Excessive heat and wildfires caused over $16.5 billion in crop losses in 2023 alone.

Earthjustice, along with the Knight First Amendment Institute and other partners, just sued the USDA for unlawfully censoring climate information that farmers, researchers, and the public depend on.

The USDA is legally required to provide access to critical agricultural policies and climate data, and we’re holding them accountable.

We’ll keep you updated as this case unfolds. This is just one of many ways the Trump administration is working to gut government agencies and censor vital information. Last week, we filed a different major lawsuit challenging its reckless rollback of offshore drilling protections, and we will continue to hold this administration accountable every step of the way.

Onward,

The Team at Earthjustice
