America First Legal supports President Trump’s Executive Order 14160, Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship, making clear that the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution does not grant citizenship to those born in the United States but not subject to the jurisdiction of and allegiance to our country.
Democrat-run states and so-called “civil rights” groups can kick and scream all they want – as you may know, dozens of them have sued to stop President Trump’s rightful executive order to end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants in our country. But we won’t let them continue to ignore our laws and destroy our Nation by flooding America with illegal aliens!
That’s why we’ve filed an amicus brief in Washington v. Trump to DEFEND Executive Order 14160, on behalf of U.S. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and 17 members of the House Judiciary Committee.
This is an absolutely critical priority. We must protect the privilege, value, and meaning of American citizenship.

The text of the 14th Amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
Both the text of this provision – and its history – DO NOT confer citizenship on the children of illegal aliens. Only those individuals subject to the jurisdiction of the United States are entitled to American citizenship. Jurisdiction means allegiance!
Since taking office on January 20th, President Trump has swiftly moved on scores of fronts to restore the rule of law and protect American sovereignty. This has only caused the radical left to ramp up and do all it can to obstruct America First programs, policies, and reforms in the courts and elsewhere. America First Legal has been fighting proudly and aggressively for these programs, policies, and reforms for over three years, and will not stop.
