Hey there, Folks. I’ve had a busy few weeks on Capitol Hill and across Maryland, and I want to share some of the concrete efforts I’m taking to protect you from the Trump/Musk administration. 

Protecting Civil Servants

The recent purges of federal civil servants aren't just an affront to good government; they're a disaster waiting to happen.

The administration claims these purges are to improve “government efficiency,” but the truth is they’re nothing more than a pretext for Trump to punish dedicated, nonpartisan civil servants and the American public that relies on them. 

That’s why, along with my colleagues in Maryland’s congressional delegation, I’ve been working hard to keep the public informed and have signed onto letters demanding answers. 

We’ve joined forces with union leaders and workers to protect as many jobs as possible and organized rallies to bring much-needed media attention to the real people and families impacted by Trump’s purges. We'll continue fighting against these illegal mass firings with every tool at our disposal.

Demanding Answers from Trump Appointees

Recently, I had the opportunity to question Robert F. Kennedy Jr. regarding his fringe beliefs, and I was left deeply concerned by his answers. 

It was my determination that he’s a dangerous conspiracy theorist who lacks the requisite experience to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, one of our most important federal agencies. I spoke forcefully against his nomination and joined my colleagues to help delay his confirmation. 

Now that he’s been confirmed, I’ll use my platform to promote evidence-based policy and correct the lies spewed by this administration.

Responding to Rising Costs

Trump never actually planned to bring costs down. Just a month into his term, inflation is spiking.

 His plan was always to gut the federal workforce and let his pal Elon Musk pull apart our government. None of that is about improving your life.

I’ll be ready to have a serious conversation about delivering for working families if this administration ever decides to care about the needs of regular Americans. 

But until that unlikely day, I’ll resist this reckless administration everywhere I can — on Capitol Hill and in communities across Maryland. 

I won’t sugar-coat it, Folks: All of this is extremely alarming. 

But I know firsthand that what sets Maryland apart is our resilience. And I know I’m not in this fight alone. At our statewide events and rallies, I’ve witnessed so many of you refusing to bow to this administration; your determination to organize, push back, and stand up for Maryland values.
