Dear John,
An elderly polar bear named Victoria, who lives in Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland, has never known freedom.
She is 29 years old and has already lived in three different zoos, moved each time for breeding. She has given birth to four cubs...all innocent individuals born into a life of captivity like their mother. Tragically, one of these babies died.
In the wild, polar bears are inherently solitary animals, who roam thousands of miles each year and well over 20 miles each day. Comparing this to a life in captivity is almost impossible. The enclosure Victoria shares with 3 others covers just 0.009 square miles.
Victoria will never live in the wild, but you can help her and others like her - join us as a Freedom Champion and fight for an end to captivity!

This is Victoria with her third cub, Hamish, who was the first polar bear cub to be born in the UK for 25 years, at Highland Wildlife Park in 2017. Hamish was moved to Yorkshire Wildlife Park in 2020.
Con in conservation
This week is International Polar Bear Day and we are using it to shine a light on the suffering these great bears endure in captivity!
Zoos claim to keep polar bears in captivity for conservation of the species, however it is a fact that a zoo bred polar bear has not once been returned to the wild!
We urgently need you to stand alongside us in the fight for the freedom of ALL animals. So please, will you join us as a Freedom Champion today?

Yours for the animals,
