Our May 2 program centers around generating the people power and the will to remove the four lower Snake River dams, part of a regional roadmap to restore salmon populations, transition to clean energy, honor tribal treaty obligations, and save the beloved Southern Resident orcas. Learn more about how we can create a future with a free flowing lower Snake River. When we finally remove the dams, it will be the largest river restoration effort ever.
When we heal the planet, we heal ourselves.
Here's more on our guest speakers:
Secretary Haaland, a longtime advocate for environmental justice and racial equity, gave up a seat in Congress to serve at the Department of the Interior in the Biden Administration. As interior secretary, she delivered big wins in conservation and made historic progress toward addressing the wrongs against Tribes and Indigenous peoples in the United States. Last week, she announced her candidacy for Governor of New Mexico.
Mark Titus [[link removed]], a Seattle-based writer, director, and producer of All Our Relations: Tribute to the Orca. In 2014, Mr. Titus released The Breach – an award-winning feature documentary about wild salmon. He followed that in 2020 with The Wild, a feature documentary which examines the fate of Bristol Bay, Alaska through the lens of addiction and recovery. The Turn, the third film in his salmon trilogy, is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
