Dear xxxxxx Family,

Last week, I held a series of events highlighting important federal funding for our state, answering constituent questions, and providing resources directly to Louisianians.

On Wednesday, I visited the Sankofa Lower Nine Food pantry for a discussion with staff, volunteers, pantry clients, and local elected officials. With looming cuts to SNAP benefits in House Republicans’ proposed budget, we talked about the importance of protecting this funding that keeps food on the table for Louisiana families.

The Sankofa Lower Nine Fresh Food Pantry offers three food and meal assistance programs to households in need. All three programs are designed to help individuals and households achieve or maintain food security and access to nutritious foods. Through a partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, they operate a food pantry that is open to all households in Louisiana.

On Wednesday night, I hosted a telephone townhall conversation with nearly 2,000 Louisiana residents tuning in. Topics included concerns about Social Security and veteran's benefits, cuts to education funding, and support for the critical work of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). I outlined how Democrats are combatting Elon Musk and Donald’s Trump’s chaos.

On Thursday, I hosted a Passport Acceptance Event to bring resources directly to the community. These happen across LA-02 a few times a year in partnership with the State Department to help people apply for and renew their passports. Over 120 constituents were assisted.
