I do. As a Capitol police officer, I was defending our country and members of Congress from MAGA insurrectionists incited by Donald Trump and his allies.

I’ll never forget that day, John: I was beaten, clubbed, peppersprayed, and threatened by a violent mob.

So when Donald Trump pardoned those violent criminals as soon as he took office, I knew we had to do more to ensure this never, ever happens again.

Which is why I’m working with Blue Battleground Project: To defeat the anti-democratic MAGA agenda and its figurehead.

Fighting back against the GOP won’t be easy, especially since they control both the House and Senate.

We’ve got a lot to do, but it really boils down to 3 action items:

1) Win off-year elections. There are important state legislature races in several states in 2025, as well as critical gubernatorial elections in both Virginia and New Jersey.

2) Choose our battles — and win them. With Democrats in the minority, we need to pick which battles are most important to American families and will make it harder for Trump to govern.

3) Set the stage for a comeback. The fight to retake the House and Senate in 2026 has already started, and we need to build out our grassroots network and raise funds to lay the foundation for a sweeping blue wave.
