'You're next': DOJ files lawsuit against New York, Hochul, Letitia James over immigration

Friend, the new U.S. attorney general just filed a lawsuit against me and the state of New York.

But we refuse to be bullied.

They think they can scare me with their "you're next" comments. They think their efforts would deter me in my fight for our immigrant friends, families, and neighbors. 

But I'm here to tell you that they're wrong. I'm not afraid, and I'm certainly not backing down.

As your attorney general, I have a responsibility to enforce our state's laws – and I will not allow these targeted attacks on immigrant communities to distract me from that responsibility. 

I will not allow our Constitution or the rights of the vulnerable and voiceless to be trampled on for political theater.

And I will not let New York be bullied into breaking the law to fulfill this hate-filled agenda.

But if I'm going to be able to stand up for our immigrant communities, I need you by my side, friend. This administration wants to make an example out of me – but let's show them we're stronger than their threats.
