Visiting Robins AFB
It was great to visit Robins Air Force Base and speak with the Wing and ALC leadership about their priorities. I am very proud of the over 24,000 men and women at Robins who “Provide Airpower for Freedom” each day.
They inspire me, and I fully appreciate everything they do to make our Air Force lethal and relevant to the joint fight. No other Air Force in the world has the global reach of the United States Air Force, and that’s due to the good work done in Middle Georgia.
Visiting Moody AFB
I also visited Moody AFB and discussed military canines, military construction, and the F-35 transition.
I am aware of the tight timelines for the F-35s to arrive at Moody and am working with my colleagues and senior Air Force Leadership to avoid any unnecessary delays.
I applaud the entire base for their leadership in cleaning up the base after Helene.
Speaking with Lowndes and Warner Robins High School Classes
Last week, I spoke with AP Government classes at Lowndes and Warner Robins High Schools.
Learning about the function of our government is important for every young American. It was a joy to meet with these students and answer their questions about Congress!
Celebrating our Congressional App Challenge Winners
Congratulations to our 2024 Congressional App Challenge winners, Micheal Do and Hieu Tran!
These Houston County High School students created an app called Signify, which generates a real-time translation of American Sign Language (ASL) to English.
Their app will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives website and displayed in an exhibit in the U.S. Capitol Building alongside winners from other participating congressional districts across the country. I am always blown away by the creativity and talent of our young constituents, and I encourage all students to participate in the upcoming app challenge this year!
