Sanctuaries are the solution for the thousands of dolphins trapped in barren tanks and forced to perform in shows at aquariums and amusement parks.
The first ever seaside dolphin sanctuary is close to opening in Lipsi, Greece. But the Greek government has failed to issue the needed permits—leaving the sanctuary and several animals in limbo.
This is urgent! Right now, a zoo in Greece is trying to send five dolphins to Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida. The stress of sending these dolphins more than 6,000 miles only to live in another concrete tank and be exhibited for tourists is unacceptable.
Help us stop the dolphin transfer and push Greek officials to greenlight the sanctuary so these and future dolphins may have a safe haven.
