1) Desperately Seeking a Tax Cut
What is going on in the United States Senate? Last week the Senate Republican majority passed a budget blueprint resolution that:
A) Spends MORE MONEY
B) Has NO Trump tax cut
Huh?
The senators want to push the Trump tax cut off until...later in the summer or maybe into the Fall? The highest priority has become the least urgent priority. Sure. That makes sense!
We can count at least three glaring problems with this strategy:
First, the economy is looking a little wobbly right now. Consumer spending and consumer sentiment are both falling, housing sales are down, and inflation is rising. This is the after-shock of Bidenomics. We need a real tax cut extension economic stimulus ASAP.
Second, waiting only allows the wanderlust Democrats months to regroup. There's too much that can go wrong with this plan. This reminds us of a James Bond movie where the villain captures 007, dumps him in a shark tank, walks away, and foolishly/naively assumes he's dead.
Third, and most obviously, the sooner the tax cut is passed, the faster the Trump economic rebound.
Republican senators assure us that as soon as the House passes the tax cut, they will jump aboard. Sure. Like they did on Obamacare repeal?

2) Repeal The Biden Ban on Gas Water Heaters
The House and Senate may soon vote on whether to repeal one of Biden's crazier Green New Deal regulations that bans the production and sale of certain gas-powered water heaters.
Rep. Gary Palmer of Alabama is the lead sponsor of H.J.Res.20 and Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has the Senate version, S.J.Res 4. Both would overturn the Biden rule under the Congressional Review Act.
This was all part of Biden's absurd war on fossil fuels and home appliances ([link removed]) - including bans on gas stoves, ovens, water heaters, and furnaces.
The water heater ban would increase the cost of a heater by about $400 to $800 and put thousands of Americans out of work, as these heaters are made in the U.S.
If Trump and conservatives want to be pro-American manufacturing, this is precisely the kind of Biden regulation that needs to be tossed out the window. Otherwise, get ready for cold showers.

3) More Spending, Fewer Kids, Worse Results
We've highlighted the scam of runaway education spending in Chicago for dismal results in the classroom. Then there is Boston. Boston now spends $31,000 per student - more per child than any large city in the country with the possible exception of New York.

But even with the blizzard of spending, the Boston Globe reported last month, test scores are still behind the level in 2011 and below the pre-lockdown levels.

4) Elon Dares To Ask Federal Workers: What Have You Done for Us Lately?
The federal government has been compared to a run-away train driven by a sleeping engineer that's heading for a blown-out trestle bridge over a deep canyon.
Elon to the rescue!
On Saturday, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management sent an email to all U.S. government workers directing them to reply and describe 5 things they did last week as part of their official work duties. The deadline is today and "failure to reply is grounds for immediate termination!"
Posting on X, Musk explained:

The unions are preparing lawsuits, claiming it is illegal, and all of Washington is acting like their hair is on fire. Max Stier, CEO of the Partnership for Public Service, calls the tweet "arson on a public asset, which is the workforce."
Also, today is the day that all federal workers have been ordered to report back to their physical offices. We'll be looking to see if there are obvious Washington D.C. traffic jams as workers stream back in.
Federal reforms to the vast federal bureaucracy is courageous and long overdue. Nixon tried it. Reagan tried it. Clinton tried it (remember "reinventing government?") Bush tried it. They all failed. The corrupt and flabby and incompetent bureaucracy won.
We're betting that Trump and Elon won't back down.

5) Meet the Left’s New Hero: JB Pritzker
Our "laugh or cry" item this week comes from the Land of Lincoln.
Arguably the second worst governor in America - after California's Gavin Newsom - Pritzker is now the talk of the town. Why? When announcing his 2028 run for the White House last week, sorry, we mean when giving his annual State of the State speech, the Illinois chief executive compared Donald Trump's "authoritarian playbook" to the rise of the Nazis. A thrilled Rachel Maddow aired that whole section on MSNBC. Then it went viral on leftwing chats all over the internet.
[link removed]
It doesn't even matter to many of our liberal friends that Pritzker has run the state of Illinois into the ground. The worst schools. Crippling budget deficits. Nearly the highest taxes. A massive outmigration of businesses and people. The streets of Chicago are now death row.
We can almost hear the Pritzker message now: Make America as Great as Illinois!
