Last month, the new federal administration rescinded the protected areas policy, which previously banned immigration officials from entering child care programs, K-12 schools and churches. They also confirmed that immigration enforcement will focus on sanctuary states and cities.


We know that Illinois’ early care and education providers want to be well-equipped with the most accurate information and guidance and with resources to continue supporting all children and families during such an uncertain time.


Join Advance Illinois, Illinois Action for Children, Latino Policy Forum, Raising Illinois, Start Early, and We, the Village this Wednesday, February 26 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. CT to hear from early childhood and immigration-focused organizations and learn about what these latest policy changes mean for programs and ways we can support our little ones and their families feeling scared or confused.
