Imagine having the opportunity to create a citizen-led redistricting commission in your state. If successful, it would ensure that voters chose their representatives, and not the other way around. 

It sounds like a dream, and last year, Ohio voters nearly pulled it off. But partisan forces and outside interests mobilized (and spent millions) to sabotage the ballot initiative. And it fell short of passage.

Wash, rinse, repeat. It’s the same old story in Ohio. Every time voters here try to make their politicians more accountable, political map manipulators do everything in their power to try and stop them.

But that’s not the end of the story. Ohio is gearing up for another, mid-decade redraw of its congressional map later this year.
