Indivisibles,
We started 2020 with 15 candidates in the running for the Democratic presidential nomination. After months of twists, turns, and unforgettable meme-able moments, fast forward to Joe Biden becoming the nominee and Indivisibles voting overwhelmingly to endorse the former Vice President to become our next President.
Since then we’ve turned our focus to defeating Donald Trump in November. And a crucial part of that equation will be making sure that Biden has the support and team to bring him to victory come Election Day.
At the last debate of the Democratic primary, Biden made a commitment to pick a woman as his running mate. His campaign is now in the process of searching for a Vice Presidential pick who will help unite the party to win this November. There are plenty of highly qualified and exciting possible choices for the role, but some names are rising above the rest.
This is where you come in --
We’re surveying Indivisibles across the country to find out who you would like to see as your next Vice President! Your voice in this movement has helped shape this primary -- and that’s not an exaggeration! Back in 2019, an Indivisible Brooklyn group leader challenged the candidates to choose a former public school teacher as the next Secretary of Education. This prompted a cascade of Democrats to promise that they would have a former educator in this important role (that means BYE BYE, Betsy DeVos!).
It’s time to flex our grassroots movement muscle and bring that same energy to the Vice Presidential pick. The possible Vice Presidential choices listed in this survey are getting the most attention and scrutiny, so we want to know how you’d rank them, or who else you would include.
We can’t wait to see the results and how you’re planning to double down in the next few months to do the work to make the Trump administration a thing of the past.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
