Hey Friend,
This week marked the start of Black History Month, and it’s more important than ever that we take the time to learn about and honor the Black leaders who contribute so much to our country.
This month, we will celebrate and uplift progressive Black leaders who are paving the way for the next generation and fighting back against Trump’s racist attacks.
This is why we’re thrilled to spotlight the newest DNC Vice Chair, Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta from Pennsylvania!
|
As the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color and one of the youngest members ever elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 2018, his win made history. Malcolm’s dedication to his community has made a significant impact not only in Philly but in the state as a whole.
His dedication to the community by advocating for workers' rights and rooting out corruption was so impressive that former President Joe Biden chose him to head the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans in 2023, and ultimately led him to speak at the DNC this past August.
|
After making his mark on a national stage and seeing the worst-case scenario happen, Kenyatta knew there needed to be a shift in how Democrats approach the next four years. That’s why he ran for a position on the DNC officer board to shake things up:

Thank you for celebrating Black History Month with us, Friend!
In solidarity,
