John, it’s Dawn.

If you didn’t already know me, I am a wife, a mother, and the First Lady of Maryland.

The governor’s house is the people’s house. It is my honor to be living here, and to serve the people of Maryland.

With over 20 years of leadership experience in government and politics, I am passionate about doing my part to create a state that works for all Marylanders.

Right now, we are facing a budget crisis that we are working hard to make sure is resolved in a way that benefits all Marylanders. Wes has proposed a bold plan to meet the moment. This plan gives nearly two-thirds of Marylanders a tax cut, will lower the corporate tax rate and focus on making Maryland more competitive and business-friendly, and cuts spending by $2 billion.

It is a bold plan, made to meet this moment which requires bold action. If we want to keep investing in our future, we need a sustainable budget — which is exactly what Wes has proposed.

Wes is making the tough decisions now so that we can continue to pave the way for Marylanders to find good jobs, earn fair wages, and have opportunities to increase wealth. By creating jobs, prioritizing regulatory reform, and making it easier to grow and stay in Maryland, Wes will be fighting to ensure that the future is bright for this state.

I will do whatever I can in my power to help push forward this plan so that Maryland can win this decade. We lead by partnering together, leaving no one behind.
