This week, Trump formalized his intent to destroy the Department of Education. This would mean larger class sizes, teacher layoffs, the ending of financial aid to millions of college students, and the slashing of green schools programs we’ve fought to win.

The climate crisis is bearing down on us every day. Yet, Trump’s priority is…shredding the protections and funding the Department of Education provides to students, so he can give tax breaks to billionaires.

He’s nominating the billionaire WWE wrestling executive, Linda McMahon, to run the Department of Education into the ground. She has no education experience and is currently being sued by ring boys for refusing to take action to stop reports of sexual abuse by management.

Her Senate hearing is on Thursday. Call your Senators today to let them know where constituents stand. We must demand all Senators to vote NO, and urge Democrats to use their power to derail this nomination process.

Trump’s actions are a middle finger to our futures, cutting resources for educators while pouring fuel on the climate crisis.

It’s not hard to understand why he’s doing this. From fossil fuels to education, Trump and his billionaire buddies are flushing our futures down the drain, all so they can make a few extra bucks in the chaos.

After all, it was Trump who ran a for-profit school that scammed students out of their time and money, and ultimately was ordered by a judge to pay former students $25 million dollars.
