The Week in Review

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 119th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.

Celebrating Girls and Women in Sports Day

On Wednesday, we celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day. President Trump signed an Executive Order banning biological men from infiltrating women’s sports, and the NCAA followed with an official policy change in compliance with President Trump’s order.

Republicans are committed to protecting women on and off the field.

Promises made, promises kept.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Hearing

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a full committee hearing titled “Rightsizing Government.” My colleagues and I discussed how President Trump created and empowered the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to conduct a government-wide audit to root out waste, fraud, and abuse and protect taxpayer dollars. The Trump Administration is delivering on its promise to eliminate Washington waste and reform the bloated federal bureaucracy.

During the hearing, I spoke with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds about Iowa’s experience with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and how Iowa would respond if the agency were eliminated. Like Arizona, Iowa has a state plan for workplace safety that meets or exceeds the safety requirements mandated by OSHA. However, both our states were impacted and successfully fought back when the Biden regime weaponized OSHA and forced unconstitutional vaccine mandates on the workforce. The COVID mandates weren’t the first time—and likely won’t be the last time—OSHA inserted itself into a matter appropriately governed by the states.

A bill I recently reintroduced to eliminate OSHA, given that the agency’s existence is unconstitutional, has stirred up quite the resentment among the Left. However, as Governor Reynolds notes in her testimony, and as history implies, the elimination of OSHA isn’t going to lead to a race to the bottom for safety standards. Instead, states like Arizona and Iowa that have for decades maintained higher workplace standards than OSHA will continue to do so and will be freed from the unconstitutional Big Brother that is the federal government.

What’s the Biggs Idea? Podcast with Sheriff Mark Lamb

On this week’s episode of What’s the Biggs Idea?, I was joined by America’s Sheriff, Mark Lamb. We discussed his experiences in Arizona law enforcement and the stark differences between the Trump and Biden Administrations. Encounters at the southern border have dropped drastically since President Trump took office, and he has taken decisive action to halt the flow of fentanyl.
