The new year is off to a fast and exciting start here in D.C., and I’m thrilled to bring you the very first edition of Ronny’s Roundup for 2025!

The start of this year has been full of important moments, with the certification of the 2024 election and inauguration of President Donald J. Trump marking a historical turning point for the future of our country. I am very excited to work with the President to deliver on his America First agenda. From securing Biden’s broken border, to creating more jobs for hardworking Americans, we are at the beginning of a new golden age for the United States. I’m excited to keep working on your behalf and look forward to all that we will accomplish in the 119th congress. Let's get to work!

Committee Assignments

I am very excited to announce the committees I was selected to serve on for the new congressional term:

First, I am proud to announce that I will serve as Chairman of the Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee for the House Armed Services Committee, a critically important role where I’ll work to counter terrorism and strengthen the capabilities of our special operations forces. Additionally, I’ll serve on the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, ensuring our Navy and Marine Corps remain the most powerful and capable forces in the world.

On the House Agriculture Committee, I’ll be working on behalf of our farmers and ranchers as a member of the Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry and Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology Subcommittees. My work on these subcommittees will be essential for passing a full 5-year Farm Bill reauthorization this Congress and ensuring Texas’ agricultural producers have stability and certainty when making vital decisions on their operations that help feed and clothe the world.

I will also be a Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where I’ll serve on the Middle East and North Africa, Africa, and Oversight and Intelligence Subcommittees, working to strengthen our nation’s foreign policy and restore America’s leadership on the world stage.

Finally, I will be serving on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where I’ll help provide oversight over our national security and intelligence operations that keep our country safe. This committee is crucial in ensuring that we remain alert to emerging threats and continue to protect our citizens from those who wish us harm. On this prestigious committee, I will serve as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

My committee assignments this Congress will allow me to continue to find impactful solutions to the most important issues facing Texas and America. I’m committed to constantly fighting for Texas values while in Washington—whether that’s supporting our farmers, protecting our troops, or safeguarding our national security. I look forward to working hard on your behalf and making sure we can deliver on President Trump’s promises to the American people!

The FARM Act

I reintroduced the Foreign Adversary Risk Management (FARM) Act. This bill would protect our food supply from foreign threats and ensure our agriculture industry remains strong, protected, and free from foreign interference.

As the Representative of the top agricultural-producing district in Texas, I am dedicated to ensuring our nation’s food systems remain free from foreign manipulation.

The Chief Zeb Smith Post Office

I also reintroduced legislation to rename the U.S. Post Office in Fritch, Texas, the "Chief Zeb Smith Post Office." Fire Chief Zeb Smith tragically lost his life while searching for a family whose house was on fire during the historic wildfires that burned over 1.2 million acres in the Texas Panhandle and destroyed Fritch and surrounding communities last year. If signed into law, this renaming would create a lasting memory of the bravery and sacrifice of Chief Zeb Smith.

The Geneva Consensus Declaration

In January I also I introduced a resolution in support of the Geneva Consensus Declaration on Promoting Women’s Health and Strengthening the Family, affirming that there is no international right to abortion and standing strong for life, women’s health, and family.

I will always be a relentless advocate for initiatives that prioritize and protect family-based values and principles. The nuclear family is the cornerstone of our nation, and America must once again lead by example and reaffirm our commitment to health and prosperity at every stage of life.

Texas State Society’s Texas Business Conference

It was an honor to speak at the Texas State Society’s Business Conference on a panel discussing Energy & Security.

President Trump’s America First energy policies will reestablish the United States' energy independence, while also supporting the energy needs of our allies — leading to stronger national security and stability throughout the world.

Israel Allies Foundation

I was grateful for the opportunity to speak at the Israel Allies Foundation event. It’s always great to see and meet the many incredible people involved with this organization.

District Spotlight

Completion of the last production unit for the B61-12 life extension program at the Pantex Plant marks a major milestone in sustaining America’s nuclear arsenal. Thanks to this critical program and the panhandle patriots responsible for it, we can count on air-delivered nuclear bombs to deter our adversaries and keep our country safe!
